Mar Jok Elementary School is unique within School District 23. Boasting an innovative open-concept design, it is the most efficient building in the entire school district. With a geo-thermal heating system and daylight harvesting for lighting, the energy-saving systems contributed to the project winning an award for green building.  Exposed glulam beam construction and unique concrete seat walls were incorporated into the landscaping to provide outdoor learning spaces.
